Ed Coppola served as President of Macerich through early 2024 and was a guiding force for the company for over four decades. During his tenure, Mr. Coppola helped position Macerich as one of the nation’s leading retail REITs with high-quality properties in many of the country’s best markets. 

Among his recent responsibilities, Mr. Coppola oversaw the company’s important development/redevelopment strategy, as well as financial resources and key lender and investor relationships. He also played a key role in acquisitions and dispositions, department store relations and an active pipeline centered on transforming Macerich’s Class A properties to deliver strong, value-driving opportunities.

Mr. Coppola, a native of Des Moines, Iowa, holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Notre Dame and a Juris Doctorate from Drake University. He is a member of the Real Estate Roundtable in Washington, D.C., and frequently contributes to key industry panels and conferences.
