SANTAN VILLAGE WELCOMES AVANTE SALON & SPA Upscale Salon Brings Luxurious Beauty Treatments to Westcor's Newest Center

PHOENIX ¯ May 2, 2007 ¯ Darin and Shalina Madrigal knew they needed to expand their East Valley spa and salon business, but it took seeing SanTan Village to know they found the perfect location for the second Avante Salon & Spa.

“The atmosphere at SanTan Village is incredibly distinctive and unlike anything else,” said Darin Madrigal, co-owner of the 5-year-old Avante Salon & Spa. “We looked at other places, and nothing else compares to SanTan Village. We really like the open-air feel and need a unique location.”

Beautiful Offerings Avante's full line of treatments for hair, nails, face and body help its clients maintain health, well being and beauty. The salon, owned by the husband-and-wife-duo, prides itself on a special combination of luxurious beauty treatments and a relentless attention to detail. The SanTan Village location will also offer a spa and medi-spa, with treatments such as massage, facials, pedicures, laser hair removal and Botox treatments

“Our services are tailored to meet the individual needs of each client. Our central goal is to offer beauty and rejuvenation in a creative and respectful environment,” said Shalina Madrigal. “We want to ensure that each treatment yields maximum benefits. Additionally, customer convenience is at the forefront. We have a special system allowing clients to book appointments online.”

Fashion Focused The 1.2-million-square-foot regional center of SanTan Village organizes its stores within neighborhoods ¯ grouping together similar offerings to make shopping more convenient. Such areas include those dedicated to teens, children and women's fashion.

The shops already announced at SanTan Village helped seal the deal for the Madrigals, who are pleased to be located near women's fashion retailers, such as Ann Taylor, Chico's and J. Jill. The newest 4,500-sqare-foot Avante will sit just a few doors down from Coach and will eventually employ about 45 people.

Westcor's SanTan Village, off the Loop 202 at Williams Field Road, will host its grand opening Oct. 26 with a vast collection of desired retailers and restaurants, including Banana Republic, lucy, White House/Black Market, Blue Wasabi and Brio Tuscan Grille.

“Avante Salon & Spa will add a new dimension to SanTan Village's line up,” said Sheila Hunter, SanTan Village senior property manager. “Our center will attract shoppers from Gilbert and the surrounding communities making this the perfect place for Avante to expand.

The Gilbert community is embracing the innovative outdoor center. SanTan Village is part of Westcor's strategic approach to market-driven development in Arizona. At build out, the SanTan Village will encompass 3 million square feet on a 500 acre urban village that includes retail, entertainment, restaurant, office space and residential.
