Olivia Bartel Leigh draws upon a breadth of expertise and real estate industry experience to lead operational services portfolio-wide. Ms. Leigh’s responsibilities encompass a wide variety of disciplines including Operations, People and Culture, Sustainability, Real Estate Tax, Security, and Risk Management. Ms. Leigh leads a team focused on identifying and addressing the needs of customers, employees and shareholders in the communities Macerich operates by optimizing the on-mall and in-office experience for stakeholders.

Key to Ms. Leigh’s responsibilities is Macerich’s comprehensive Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) efforts, which she leads. The Company regularly earns top accolades and recognitions – including the #1 GRESB ranking in the North American Retail Sector for seven straight years (2015 – 2021) and CDP Climate “A List” status for many years running – along the way to its industry-leading sustainability goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030, two decades ahead of the Paris Agreement. 

Joining Macerich in 2005, prior to her current role Ms. Leigh was the SVP, Property Management (West) and has held risk management and human resources leadership roles at the Company. Having experience in a variety of different disciplines throughout the Company, Ms. Leigh brings a broad perspective to her operational responsibilities.

Ms. Leigh previously held real estate roles at Catellus Development Corporation and Grubb & Ellis (now Newmark Knight Frank). A California native, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
